Aurora Commons drop-in programming, our neighborhood living room, is made possible by the generosity of corporate sponsors and individual donors. Their support ensures that healing and transformation are free from the constraints of restricted funding.

We believe that healing is not linear, but it does have a beginning. It starts with hospitality: the welcoming invitation to belong and participate in community. Curating a space where our neighbors feel seen, heard, and loved is at the heart of everything we do.

This invitation to belonging is our neighbors’ first encounter with Aurora Commons. It begins with a warm welcome by name, a fully stocked self-serve coffee bar, a hot meal, and a table big enough to share with others.

"This is my home. This is my place of normalcy." -Commons Neighbor

"You guys didn't make me feel like I was homeless.
I felt like I was walking into a friend's home." -Another Commons Neighbor

We prioritize building trusted relationships with our neighbors experiencing homelessness over transactional ones. Our approach is person-centered and trauma-informed, meaning our neighbors are the decision-makers, leading their next steps in their journey toward health and healing.

“Being embraced for my individuality and accepting me as I am, it actually gives me
the opportunity to believe in myself again.” -DeShawn, Commons Neighbor
